I will be sharing stories from teachers, students, professionals, and myself of moments from our former physical location, our experiences through covid 19, and what is driving our motivations to keep teaching, practicing, and staying together as a community.

I wanted to give up...

On the verge of closing Union entirely, after burying 3 family members and losing 2 more. After a long hard traumatic crumbling of my wedding vows.

I started out into the pacific ocean and asked myself 'why am I still keeping this studio open?' And then I thought of Shannon.

Shannon Reily

Shannon Reily I can remember Shannon when she first started practicing with us - new and a little anxious - and remarkably curious, engaging, and willing to dive into her recovery through yoga.

Shannon became a member through the Union Yoga Fund in August 2019.

Each person that practices with Union Yoga directly funds our mission. We donate a portion of each drop-in visit and monthly membership charge to the Union Yoga Fund, which supports a sliding scale or subsidized membership for students in recovery.

As Shannon continued practicing with Union Yoga, her demeanor gradually changed. The energy within and around her was alive as she blossomed as her relationship with yoga grew. It showed Shannon Reily became a paying member in January 2020.

Full Circle

Shannon enrolled in our teacher training program in February 2021 and has realized a processing and therapy for recovery I envisioned for sharing through Union Yoga. The same yoga path I set foot upon when I practiced for the first time and my home studio Spirit Yoga. Years ago.
